Office of Research

Under the leadership of Dr. Mary Bernard, Associate Vice President Research and Faculty Affairs, the Office of Research and Faculty Affairs provides a portfolio of services to facilitate and promote the research activities of Royal Roads University and to facilitate Aboriginal relations.

Welcome!

The Office of Research and Faculty Affairs responds to the research needs of faculty and students at Royal Roads University, actively engaging with all parts of the Royal Roads community to facilitate an integrated approach to applied research, student learning and advancing the university’s mandate to respond to labour market needs of British Columbia, Canada, and beyond.

Royal Roads University’s applied research mirrors its interdisciplinary curriculum, being solution-oriented and real-world focused. Guided by the university’s strategic research themes – learning and innovation, thriving organizations, and sustainable societies and communities – Royal Roads research produces relevant knowledge that responds to global, national and community-based problems. Royal Roads students, mostly career professionals, gain much of their knowledge and competence through applied research and action learning with their home, or other, organizations or communities. Royal Roads University’s unique profile allows it to truly demonstrate learning and research in action.

The AVP Research and Faculty Affairs provides oversight and approvals for RRU dissertations and thesis. The AVP is also responsible for faculty affairs including policy development and university wide consistency of recruitment and support for associate faculty.

The Office of Research and Faculty Affairs welcomes faculty, students and staff to avail themselves of our services to join in our collective endeavour to make a difference.

Sincerely,

Mary Bernard
Associate Vice President Research
