Under the direction of Dr. Pedro Marquez, the Office of the Vice President Research, International, Marketing and Business Development, provides a portfolio of services to facilitate and promote the research activities of Royal Roads University. The office is the primary point of contact for research ethics and research services, including development and funding, intellectual property, research communication, and research policies and procedures.
Royal Roads University’s applied research mirrors its interdisciplinary curriculum, being solution-oriented and real-world focused. Guided by the university’s strategic research themes – learning and innovation, thriving organizations, and sustainable societies and communities – Royal Roads research seeks to produce relevant knowledge that responds to global, national and community-based problems. Royal Roads students, mostly career professionals, gain much of their knowledge and competence through applied research and action learning with their home, or other, organizations or communities.
